On November 7, 2022, city council adopted the Economic Development Strategic Plan. The Plan identifies and articulates economic development policies and guides the allocation of economic development resources over the next five to ten years.  It also recommends roles for the city and its economic development partner organizations to implement the recommended strategies. 

On April 13, 2023  Downtown Colorado, Inc. (DCI) awarded the City of Englewood the Governor’s Award for Downtown Excellence for its newly adopted Economic Development Strategic Plan.
