Position Title: Open Tech Lab Tutor
Responsible To: Adult Volunteer Supervisor and, if applicable, Englewood Public Library staff.
Summary: Assist patrons in the Technology Lab and in public computer area on general use and provide basic instruction. This may include, but is not limited to printing, website navigation, troubleshoot computer issues, guidance on use of tablets and smartphones, connecting to the public Wi-fi, and other technology related duties and projects as needed.
Time Commitment: Minimum of 2 hours per week, with a maximum of 6 hours per week. Schedule will vary based on volunteer availability and Library needs.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Working knowledge of personal computers and other technology devices. Basic knowledge of web-based email, web browsers, and Microsoft Office applications. Ability to patiently provide instruction to novice computer users, communicate effectively and pleasantly with library patrons, and work cooperatively with Library staff.
Qualifications: Must be at least 18 years old or older. Strong knowledge of using a variety of technology and web-based tools. Previous experience providing formal technology instruction is helpful.
