In addition to its regular services, the Englewood Public Library is dedicated to ensuring that everyone in the community can benefit from its resources and offerings. Recognizing that some individuals may face challenges in visiting the library in person, the library provides a valuable Homebound Delivery program.

What is Homebound Delivery?

Homebound Delivery is designed for people who, due to age, illness, accident, or disability, are unable to visit the library in person. Library staff work with participants to select and deliver materials to their homes on a regular basis. Available materials include books, audiobooks on CD, Playaway audiobooks, and movies. 

How does a person qualify?

Participants will need to have an Englewood Public Library card in good standing and live within the city limits of Englewood, Colorado. Participants must ensure a safe and secure environment for library staff to make deliveries.

How does the program work?

Homebound Delivery allows for up to 15 items to be checked out per library card. Check-out period is for three (3) weeks with the option to renew if there are no active holds on the selected item. Materials to be returned will also be picked up during these visits. Participants are not responsible for fines on overdue items but will be assessed a fee for lost or damaged items. Delivery visits are scheduled for Thursday afternoons. Individual participants will have visits every other week, with specific dates planned once participation begins. (Exception – if a holiday or other library closure falls on a Thursday, library staff will coordinate with participants to schedule deliver for the first available day prior to the closure.)
