10 Native Plants No Colorado Garden Should Be Without with Danna Liebert

FREE native plant seeds will be given to attendees while supplies last!

Garden Designer, Danna Liebert, will share some of her favorite native plants for interest and beauty, value to pollinators and wildlife, and a range of bloom times, colors, and sizes. In this workshop you will learn about the ecological benefits of native plants, how Danna approaches naturalistic garden design, and tips to increase your odds of success with new plants. This workshop is appropriate for any levels of gardening experience.

Danna and her family have lived in Englewood for 10 years, and she is the owner of Grounded Growth Landscape Design, an ecological landscaping company. She worked with Englewood’s Parks Department to transform the turf at Depot Park into pollinator habitat. She is also a member of the Board of Directors for Wild Ones Front Range, a non-profit group that empowers people to landscape with native plants to restore ecological health.

Composting 101 - Fighting Climate Change and Restoring Soil on the Front Range

Concerned about climate change? Want to do something that benefits the planet and our local ecosystems? Come learn about the easiest and most impactful climate solution at our fingertips! Join neighbors, community members and Compost Colorado for an interactive session on the power of composting, and the do's and don'ts of this essential practice. to learn from expert facilitators about how a simple shift in our choices at the trash bin can have resounding benefits for our communities and the planet!

Tuesday, April 30 from 5:30 to 7 p.m.

Rain Barrel Workshop

In this workshop, you'll join the City of Englewood and Groundwork Denver water program director, Jessica Swindon, to learn about rainwater harvesting principles and how to apply them to your home. You'll leave with all of the information you need to install a rain barrel, the legality of harvesting rainwater, and how to start conserving water and saving money.

You will need to be able to take home your rain barrel at the end of the workshop. Due to the popularity of these workshops, please only register one person for one barrel per household.

Workshop Lead Bio: Jessica Swindon is the water program director at Groundwork Denver, an environmental-justice non-profit in Denver and an Englewood City resident. She works with youth and the community to install rain barrels and rain gardens for residents, monitors water quality, and advocates for water protection in the Metro Denver area.
 
You do not need to register to attend this event. Registration is only for those who want to buy a rain barrel for the workshop.
