2024 Water & Sewer Rates
On October 2, 2023, the Englewood City Council adopted new water, sanitary sewer and stormwater rates effective January 1, 2024. For 2024, both water and sewer rates increased by 4.5% over 2023 rates. This is necessary to fund critical capital investments to improve the water system over the next several years – much of which focuses on addressing the taste, odor and hardness of the drinking water.
Based on typical residential water usage of 6,000 gallons per month, the increase in the monthly water and sewer bill is approximately $2.12.

Text description of the above graph: How Do We Stack Up? Even with these necessary rate increases, Englewood's water still costs less than most Denver Metro cities. Water, Sewer and Stormwater Typical Bill with Water Usage of 6,000 Gallons. Littleton is $82.95, Englewood is $88.15, Aurora is $92.33, Castle Rock is $112.98, Denver Water is $113.57, Parker is $153.01 and Roxborough is $186.25.
Future Rate Increases
Moving forward, customers should expect rate increases for water, sewer and stormwater services every year. This is in alignment with the city’s long-term financial plans. Generally, water and sewer rates will each increase around 4.5% each year, resulting in an additional $2.00 to $3.00 per month for typical water usage in future years. For stormwater, the typical residential customer should see nominal increases in future years. These rate increases are necessary to ensure continued investment and improvement in the city’s infrastructure.Monthly Capital Improvement Fees
Also consistent with the financial modeling, the monthly water Capital Improvement Fee (CIF) will not increase in 2024. The CIF is specifically calculated to address water taste, odor and hardness issues, as well as fund repairs and replacements to the aging water system. This fee is planned to increase every other year.
