What is Elevate Englewood?Elevate Englewood Leadership Academy

A program to empower residents and stakeholders to make a difference in Englewood by understanding, navigating and influencing local power structure. The eight-week course overviews the four sectors of civic life—public, private, non-profit and education—while exploring new avenues and tools for involvement that disrupt the status quo and address the community’s most pressing challenges.

Desired Outcomes for Participants:

Learn to influence decision makers to address community challenges; for example:

  • Utilize social media to organize and advocate for change
  • Develop a coalition of residents to influence policy
  • Raise funds to address a community need
  • Volunteer for a local organization
  • Start a non-profit
  • Join the PTA
  • Present information to community leaders

 Learn to lead within local organizations

  • Join the board or staff of a non-profit
  • Apply to serve on a City or County board or commission
