Program Guidelines

1. Landfill and trash hauler reimbursement vouchers for illegally dumped items are produced, distributed and tracked by the City of Englewood Code Enforcement Division.
2. A list of landfills, transfer stations and trash haulers is attached for your reference. The list does not constitute a recommended vendor list.
3. Landfill and trash hauling vouchers are only available to residents or owners of businesses or property in Englewood who have been the victim of illegal dumping as verified by the Code Enforcement Division.
4. Each landfill/trash hauling voucher is worth up to $50 in reimbursable expenses.
5. Each residential household, business owner or property owner will be limited to two vouchers per year.
6. The Code Enforcement Division will pursue identifiable subjects and issue a court summons for illegal dumping under EMC 15-7-1A where the victim being the owner/occupant is entitled to victim restitution for expenses incurred for the removal of illegally dumped items.

Process for Reimbursement

1. The Residential or Business victim reports illegal dumping on private property to the Code Enforcement Division using one of the following methods:
   1. Call the Codes Inspection Line at 303-762-2335
   2. Using the EngleFix App
      Submit pictures or video as proof of the dumping or of potential suspects/vehicle plate
      Note: filing a false police report may result in criminal charges
2.  Property owner either
   1. Contracts with a trash hauler licensed in Englewood to remove the material
   2. Hauls the material to a licensed landfill or transfer station themselves.
3. Property owner retains receipt from landfill or trash hauler of the additional cost and presents the receipt(s) to Code Enforcement as proof of the removal of the illegally dumped items.
4. Code Enforcement will submit a letter to finance for reimbursement of up to $50 to the City’s Finance Department.
5. The Finance Department will collect the necessary information from Code Enforcement and will mail a check to the original listed property owner or occupant who filed the original Police Code Report.
