Universal Business Guidelines for Englewood Businesses
Under the current guidelines, all Englewood businesses must hold a sales and use tax license by January 1, 2021. This is not a new tax, all businesses in Englewood have been required to pay a use tax upon opening a business.
In order to apply for a sales and tax use license, go to Englewood.munirevs.com. The application and approval process can take 7-14 days and applicants must have a registered agent/legal representative, an owner’s Colorado drivers’ license, and the $25.00 application fee. Applications will be reviewed by various city departments to confirm that the business is in compliance.
All sales and use tax licenses will move to a bi-annual renewal effective January 1, 2021, however miscellaneous business licenses (i.e. arborists, short term rentals, etc.) will still be required annually.
The City of Englewood is offering an amnesty period with penalties and interest being reduced for any use taxes previously owed if they are reported and paid prior to June 30, 2021. If a business’ revenue is below $30,000 in sales, services or purchases, they may qualify for a De Minimis Tax License.
If you would like to pursue amnesty please fill out this form.
