Division Chief, David LeClair
Division Chief LeClair joined the Englewood Police Department in 2006. During his time with the Englewood Police Department he has worked in the Patrol Division as a master police officer and was promoted to rank of Sergeant in July 2016. He is certified DRE (drug recognition expert) and currently is the SWAT Commander. He was promoted to Division Chief in August 2021. Division Chief LeClair oversees the Police Patrol Division, Traffic Enforcement Team, Zone Policing Program & School Resource Officer. The Patrol Division provides 24 hour a day police service by responding to emergency and non-emergency calls for service. Division Chief LeClair can be contacted at 303.762.2445 or by email.
Traffic Enforcement Team
The Traffic Unit consists of three officers, one parking management officer, and one abandoned vehicle officer. This highly-visible unit works high-accident locations, school zones, traffic complaints and parking regulations throughout the city. The Traffic Unit believes in using Engineering, Education and Enforcement as a way to combat the various traffic issues that may arise within the City of Englewood.
Zone Policing Program
The Zone Policing Program consists of two officers who work specifically identified areas in the city that are experiencing high calls for service and/or chronic problems in an effort to reduce and ultimately eliminate ongoing problems.
School Resource Officer Program
The School Resource Officer investigates events on and off campus by gathering information about school security. This is accomplished by working with the Englewood Public School employees and other law enforcement agencies in order to stay current with school trends.
