The Englewood Police Department is led by Police Chief Sam Watson. The department consists of 78 sworn officer positions and is comprised of three divisions: Patrol Operations, Special Operations and Code Division, and Support Services.

2024 Salary Range

  • Police Officer 1st Class - $112,322
  • Police Officer 2nd Class - $102,156
  • Police Officer 3rd Class - $96,995
  • Police Officer 4th Class - $84,541
  • Police Officer Probationary - $79,354

Hiring Requirements

  • Colorado P.O.S.T. certification or peace officer certification from another state     
  • High school graduate or equivalent and 60 semester hours or 90 quarter hours from an accredited university or college of college credit. A minimum of three years as a P.O.S.T. certified law enforcement officer serving in a patrol capacity may be substituted in lieu of the college credit requirement. Three or more years of active-duty military service with an Honorable Discharge may be substituted in lieu of the college credit requirement 
  • Valid driver’s license and clear and/or acceptable motor vehicle record
