Administration
Public Works Administration provides direction and guidance to the Engineering Services, Traffic Engineering, Street Maintenance, Operations and Building Maintenance and ServiCenter Garage divisions.
Engineering Services
The Engineering Services Division provides engineering services related to the city's infrastructure and public right-of-ways, as well as project development and management for engineering needs in other departments.
Traffic Engineering
The Traffic Engineering Division manages the traffic engineering needs of the city and provides routine and emergency maintenance for existing traffic control devices, and installation of new traffic control devices as directed by the Traffic Engineer. Traffic control devices include street name signs, guide signs, crosswalks, delineation markers, Opticom systems, traffic signals and signal controllers.
Streets & Right-of-Way Services
This division maintains the city's 119 miles of streets and 52 miles of alleys, as well as the city's bridges, surface drainage, sanding, plowing, collecting and disposing of snow.
Operations and Building Maintenance
This division manages building facility operation, repair and maintenance, and includes the Metal Shop and Building Services personnel. It provides maintenance and support services to all city departments, including 32 city buildings.
ServiCenter Garage
This Internal Service Fund Division performs vehicle maintenance, repair, purchase and disposal of City vehicles and equipment in an efficient and cost-effective manner. This division also manages the Central Stores operation and fuel and oil inventory accounts. Fleet maintenance services are also provided on a contract basis to Cherry Hills Village, the City of Sheridan and Englewood Schools.
The ServiCenter
The ServiCenter facility provides work and storage areas for the following city activities:
- Parks Division: Maintenance and Service Shops, Public Tree Mulch Pick-up
- Public Works: Building Services, Fleet Maintenance, Streets and Drainage, Traffic Engineering Maintenance and Sign Shop
- Safety Services: Fire and Police Storage, Hazardous Material Drop-off Site
- Utilities: Maintenance and Service Shops
State Highways
The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) provides pavement maintenance, snow and ice control, and cleaning services on designated state highways that pass through Englewood and the surrounding communities. These highways consist of:
- Santa Fe Drive
- US Hwy 285 (portions also known as Hampden Avenue)
- Federal Blvd.
- Belleview Avenue, east of Federal Blvd.
