About the Contest
Does your house or block have the most festive decorations in the neighborhood? The Neighborhood Resources Program invites Englewood residents to participate in the Annual Holiday Decorating Contest. You may nominate your home or talk to your neighbors and nominate your block/neighborhood.
One winner will be chosen from each of the following categories:
- Best House ($100 award)
- Best Block/Neighborhood ($25 awarded to each home that participates, up to $600)
The deadline to submit entries is Monday, December 9.
Rules
The intent of the Holiday Decorating Contest is to inspire a spirit of personal, neighborhood and civic pride by encouraging Englewood residents to decorate for the holiday season.

Applicants can apply for Best House and also Best Block/Neighborhood.

Use of LED/Green-Friendly decorations will be a bonus during the judging.

No displays installed by professional lighting firms will be judged.

Displays are to be available for viewing from December 1 through January 7.

Displays are to be lighted from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Out of respect for your neighbors, audio effects should be turned down after 9 p.m.

All entries will be judged on originality, creativity, artistic and overall effect, craftsmanship and how the display relates to the holidays.

Decisions of the judges are final.

All submissions and winners will be included in the city’s holiday decorating map. Neighbors can grab a hot cocoa, hop in the car and follow the route to explore all the entries around Englewood.

- Best House: 'Lights of Lipan' at 4500 S Lipan St.
- Best Business: Frame de Art, 3065 S. Broadway
- Best Neighborhood: Cushing Neighborhood, 3000-3200 Block of Fox St.
- Legacy Award: 'The Kloewers' at 5041 S. Elati St.
