Memorial Bench and Tree Program
The City of Englewood offers a Memorial Tree and Bench Program for those who wish to honor a loved one or person or celebrate a special occasion and contribute to the beauty of the parks or open space.A Memorial Tree not only gives a lasting legacy to a loved one or a meaningful event but also brings life and beauty to the community for years to come. Memorial trees are acknowledged on a commemorative tree plaque located at the Englewood Civic Center or at the Broken Tee Golf Course, depending on location of the Memorial Tree.
- Memorial Bench Program
Effective January 2023, the Memorial Bench Program has temporarily been suspended.
Adopt-a-Flower Bed
Do you have a green thumb? The City of Englewood is looking for individuals or groups to contribute to the beautification of the city by adopting a local flower bed in an Englewood park, open space or at the Broken Tee Golf Course. Volunteers are responsible for the planting of flowers in May and maintaining the flower bed through the summer and fall clean-up. Maintenance includes weeding, deadheading flowers and pruning on a weekly basis. Flowers and water are provided. Volunteers will need to provide their own equipment (gloves and hand tools) and the energy, time and enthusiasm to get their hands dirty! For more information and available locations, call 303-762-2684 or email Debby Severa.
Free Mulch
Free mulch is available to Englewood citizens throughout the year. The mulch is from Christmas trees that were dropped off in January. Appointment is required for pick-up of mulch. Call Tim Holt at 303-762-2542 to schedule pick-up time. Pick up is a ¼ mile north of the City of Englewood’s Service Center (2800 S. Platte River Drive) on the right side. Staff is not available to assist with loading mulch, please bring your own supplies.
Tree Donation
The Parks Department will accept the donation of trees to be placed in the Englewood park system. Trees must be up to a 4" caliper. Evergreen trees and certain varieties of deciduous trees are not accepted due to the low rate of survival after transplanting. For more information on these or other park programs and projects, please call the Parks, Recreation, Library and Golf Administrative Office at 303-762-2684 or email Debby Severa.
