All persons wanting to be in the show must first audition. Please prepare one minute of song and one minute of monologue that is not from the 42nd Street show, an accompanist will be available. In addition, short monologues are provided on the website below. Memorization is not required, but strongly encouraged. A headshot is also REQUIRED at the time of auditioning. It does not need to be professional but does need to clearly show your face. This show is very dance-focused, the Choreographer will prepare a brief dance audition that you are encouraged to learn. If you intend to be considered for the leading parts, you must do this element. If you are interested in being in the ensemble, the dance audition will be optional, but highly recommended.

Rehearsals

Ages: 13 & older

Location: The Englewood Campus 3800 S. Logan St.

Dates:

• Monday-Friday, June 3 - July 19, 7 - 10 p.m.
• Saturday – July 20, Time TBD: Tech Saturday
• Monday-Thursday, July 22-25, 7 - 11 p.m.: Dress Rehearsal*
  *Please note all participants, regardless of age, could be asked to be at Dress Rehearsals until 11 p.m., as well as until 11 p.m. during the Friday and Saturday shows.

Evening rehearsals are for cast members 13 years and older. A specific schedule of required attendance is given out before rehearsals begin. All cast members, parents, and children need to attend the first rehearsal on 6/3/24 for important information.

Program Fee
A program fee is required for all actors and actresses performing in the production. Fee: $25

Drama Classes

Ages: 8-12 yrs. old

Location: Englewood High School

These drama classes will inspire children of all abilities to act, sing & dance. Self-esteem, confidence, and creativity will be built through instructions in vocals, dance, and acting. It is a great way to participate in live theater. The child actors will perform a smaller-scale show of their own on the final day of class. A child can participate and register for the class and not be in the large production. All children 8-12 years old who audition and are selected to be in the final production must register for class.
