Bicycle Routes

Englewood has over twenty miles of bike paths that connect to regional trail systems. Information on Englewood's bike routes and connecting trails throughout the region are included on the links below.

Grant-funded bicycle route improvements

With the help of federal grant funding, Englewood participates in the "Communities Putting Prevention to Work" program aimed at helping prevent obesity. This grant funding allowed us to expand bicycle routes throughout Englewood and improve regional trail connections. In addition, neighborhood bicycle routes were added to provide connections to local schools and new signage was added across the community.

Safety Stop Rule

The City of Englewood has a new rule for cyclists, known as the “Safety Stop.” Bicyclists will be allowed to treat stop signs as yield signs and traffic signals as stop signs. How? Unlike driving a car, a cyclist has a better perspective of traffic surroundings. In Idaho, the bike law passing is thought to have decreased bicycle-vehicle collisions by 14%.

Please note: This rule applies to skilled riders, who feel comfortable slowing down and proceeding safely through intersections.
