If you received an approved Residential Flood Mitigation Grant, please complete the form below and upload the required documents no later than December 31, 2024 to be reimbursed a maximum of $10,000 for eligible, flood mitigation improvements.

Eligible Improvements

  1. Purchase and installation of egress windows, including exit ladders.
  2. Purchase and installation of barriers into doorways to both main floors and basement entrances to prevent water from flowing under the doors.
  3. Construction or repair of porches to route stormwater away from entrances and windows.
  4. Construction of berms or other landscape elements designed to divert stormwater away from entrances and windows.
  5. Installation of floor drains in basements.
  6. Construction of channels under or grates in fences that allow water to pass through.
  7. Engineering or design services by a licensed, professional engineer for eligible improvements. 
  8. Other improvements as approved by the Public Works Department.

Required Documents for Reimbursement

  1. Grant Approval Letter from City of Englewood
  2. Approved Drawings and Improvement Designs
  3. Letter from Engineer, if Applicable
  4. Final City Inspection Approval, if Applicable
  5. Paid Invoices for Flood Improvements Performed by a Licensed Contractor or Receipts if Work was Performed by the Homeowner
  6. Signed Waiver of Liability

Payment

The grant reimburses property owners up to a maximum of $10,000 for eligible, pre-approved flood mitigation improvements.  Once reimbursement is approved, the property owner will be mailed a check within ten business days.
